BLOCK 17 – INSPECTION / MAINTENANCE CONTRACT

In 2014, ALTRAD signed a five-year inspection contract with TOTAL E&P Angola. Deployed on four FPSO-type floating units (GIRASSOL / DALIA / PAZFLOR / CLOV), the project integrated different activities: access and rope access, non-destructive testing (NTD), lifting, rigging and various mechanical operations.

With six people per ship and 10 to 15 people on board for ad hoc activities, the contract operations mainly focused on rope access, remote motion analysis (RMS), digital X-ray analysis, and security for advanced NDT, in addition to rope access and various controls.

This inspection contract was combined with a maintenance contract for TOTAL E&P Angola in 2015, integrating at the same time all Altrad's areas of expertise in services to industry: stripping and sandblasting (in particular by UHP or ultra high pressure water spraying), anti-corrosion coatings, passive fire protection, thermal insulation, scaffolding and rope access.

Here again, the complete maintenance programme involved the four FPSOs in Block 17 (GIRASSOL / DALIA / PAZFLOR / CLOV), with more than 2 million hours worked over five years, 160 operators and 300 tonnes of scaffolding. Altrad combined performance and safety, thanks to the training of local workers and adaptation of the equipment (in full compliance with the ATEX zone II directive), while preserving the environment with respect to the ISO 14001 standard.
